Floral Bloom Embroidery Masterclass

Your ticket includes all materials, guidance, soft drinks, hot drinks and lunch from Hawarden Estate Farm Shop.

A mindful and creative day exploring stitched floral blooms.

Your expert, Jessica Grady, will introduce you to a range of simple hand embroidery stitches and show you how you can layer those stitches on fabric to create colourful flower buds, petals, vines and stems filled with texture. Jessica will also show you how to use alternative thread ideas including; fabric strips, wool, cord, ribbon and twine to add extra pattern and detail to your design.

Your beautiful floral design will grow throughout the workshop to create your own unique textile artwork.

Techniques explored in the workshop include a variety of hand embroidery stitches including chain stitch, couching, French knots and stem stitch, adding small beads and sequins, creating organic floral motifs and tips for choosing colours palettes and compositions for your design.

Jessica will provide 1:1 assistance, inspiration and ideas to help you create your own textile artwork throughout the day. This workshop is suitable for all abilities, whether you are a complete beginner to stitch, or someone who would like to explore techniques and try something new!

No previous stitching experience needed.
You will leave with what you make!

About Jessica Grady

Jessica is an award winning embroidery artist and workshop facilitator from West Yorkshire. Her work is a colourful and creative exploration of hand stitch and mixed media. She utilises waste and recycled materials, which are transformed into exciting sustainable embellishments that are stitched onto fabric. Jessica’s work has been exhibited in the UK, Europe and Asia, and she shares her skills across the and beyond through workshops, community projects and lectures.
