What Makes Hawarden Estate Different?

The famous, storied and beautiful Hawarden Estate is uniquely modern in outlook. It is home to a multi-award-winning farm shop, restaurant and pub as well as some of the best self-catering accommodation in the UK. There is a bakery, a beautiful Walled Garden, medieval castle ruins, a school of craft, wellness and food, a nature trail and lots more.

We have many different and beautiful spaces for you to host your special day. The Estate is just 15 minutes from Chester, 40 minutes from Liverpool and Manchester, and two and a half hours from London on the train.

We have nearly ten years experience in creating truly special, unique events and weddings.

In any of our beautiful spaces, we can curate an incredible wedding with amazing food and drink, whether you want an intimate, quiet day for a handful of friends and family or even a micro-festival celebration for up to 80 guests.

WEDDING FAQS

  • Private booking of the Walled Garden, The Greenhouse of The Glynne Arms.

    Areas that are to be used must be specified and agreed in advance of your wedding day.

    Single-sided printed menus.

    Hawarden standard blue striped napkins, glassware, crockery and cutlery.

    A staffed event, drinks service, dinner service, and bar service after dinner.

    Use of our car park.

  • Food, drinks, entertainment

    A wedding planner - we strongly recommend working with one of our preferred planners and for weddings of 50+ this is a requirement.

    Whole Estate access

    The Old Castle and Lake can be booked for an additional cost by the hour - these are great options for photos.

  • All accommodation on site must also be hired or blocked off as part of your booking.

    Use of Hawarden Estate crockery and glassware.

    All food and drink must be by the Hawarden Estate team.

    It must be understood that we have sound curfews for each venue which must be adhered to. 11pm in the Walled Garden in the Conservatory only. 11.30pm at The Glynne Arms. After these times, no amplified music is allowed.

    We, therefore, advise that your wedding breakfast is served at 5pm latest with any evening guests arriving not later than 7.30pm.

    Please try and provide as much information as possible including dates, times and number of guests.

  • We don’t currently offer ceremonies on Hawarden Estate, meaning you will need to hold your ceremony elsewhere.

    We would recommend St. Deiniol’s church in Hawarden Village.
