Apple Day & Old Castle Open Day
A full day of celebrations for the humble, glorious apple. PLUS meander up to our Grade I listed monument, Hawarden Old Castle, which is only open for a handful of days each year.
Apple Day
A fun-filled family day out as we celebrate autumn and all things apples! Join us at Hawarden Estate Farm Shop between 10am-4pm, for a range of free activities hosted by Ffion (Explorer Club) and Mark (Little Growers’). Drop-in throughout the day for:
The Pumpkin Explorer Trail
Apple-related crafts
Make a foraged crown and leaf masks
Face painting (paid)
Live music
Marshmallows and s’mores around our campfires
Games such as apple shy and apple bobbing
Hot food from the fire will include hog roast baps with Hawarden Estate apple sauce. There will be apple crumble for pudding and other sweet treats from our bakery.
And on the bar you’ll find OURS Cider, plus hot mulled cider, too.
No booking necessary!
Old Castle Open Day
For anyone walking up to the Old Castle, we kindly ask that you make a donation to charity. This time, we will be supporting the superb Nightingale House, a local hospice specialising in palliative care for those with life-limiting illnesses.
Your donation can be made in advance (below), or on the day (cash only).
Last admission to the Old Castle will be 3pm.
