Screen Print Your Own Tea Towels with Gail Bryson

Screen Print Your Own Tea Towels with Gail Bryson

You will start the session with a brief introduction into the process of screen printing.

Gail will show a few examples and talk about her experience. Gail will then take you through the steps of creating your design, talking you through the printing process and finally helping you print your own tea towels.

You will then create their own tea-towel design, and make paper stencils of your design to use for printing.

At the end of the session you will print your own 1 or 2 colour tea-towel. We will use fair trade cotton tea-towels to print on, which you can then use at home in your kitchen, or even frame and hang as a piece of art. You’ll be able to print 2 tea-towels to take home with you, and there will be a choice of coloured inks to print with.

Gail Bryson is an expert designer and screen-printer. She applies her colourful geometric patterns to limited edition prints and fabrics. Gail runs regular screen printing workshops, and also has a long list of clients for her design work, such as John Lewis and Neal’s Yard Remedies.

What will you learn?

You will learn about stencilling, screen printing and how to translate your ideas into a design. You will then learn to choose your colour, and to screen print your design. Gail is an expert - you can also pick her brains throughout the workshop.
