If, like me, you never know what to buy for Mother’s Day, why not fill a hamper with a few items you know your Mum will love?
Our Food Hall is full to the brim of quality products from books, sweet, jams, cordials, wine and lots of local products to fill your pantry. We take a lot of care selecting our products so that we offer a range of the best quality items we know you will love.
If you’d like us to wrap it for you, simply ask one of the team.
Here’ some of our top picks for your hampers…
Upgrade your oils.
Avocado oil is not only healthy, it is also a flavourful addition to your food. It can be used in place of other cooking oils, butter and margarine and has all of the goodness and minerals from the fruit itself. A recent addition to our shelves is Kante Cold-pressed Avocado Oil, and we love it.
Another of our favourites is Bennet and Dunn rapeseed oils are some of the best quality oils we have tasted and it’s from a few miles down the road in Shropshire. Choose a classic rapeseed for the day-to-day stuff and the lemon-infused for when you’re looking for that extra hit of flavour.
Food that cares.
Holy cow! are our new vegan curry sauces made by a real Indian mum. For every sauce sold, they donate a school dinner to schools in India meaning you can do your bit, too, by purchasing.
You can’t get more local than Flintshire Honey made here on the Hawarden Estate. A small intake of local pollen is recommended daily to help battle hayfever. Summer’s coming…
Snacks that are good for you.
Mighty Fine coat their almonds in a much thinner coat of quality chocolate than other chocolate coated nuts - they taste better, still feel indulgent but much less sugar in each sitting. #winning
Kitchen bookshelf staples.
The DO Book Co. are staples on the kitchen book shelf. Two perfect additions for Springtime are Anja Dunk, Jen Goss and Mimi Beaven’s guide to preservation and DO/Grow by Alice Green.
We are doing our very best to reduce our single plastic use here at the Farm Shop and slowly but surely, we’re getting there. Pick up a Farm Shop canvas tote bag or a cotton string shopper - essentials you can use again and again.
Small-batch chocolate from Wales
Heist Chocolate is a tiny independent chocolate maker based in Cardiff, Wales which specialises in micro-batches of stone ground chocolate using single origin cacao beans. Each batch is hand sorted and then roasted in a small factory in the centre of the city - run by a one guy team, Mikey.
Drink more gin.
Welsh gin, top tonic and garnish - enough said.
