Just this week, Wales’ only native plum from just up the road in Denbigh has been awarded PDO status by the European Union. The Denbigh Plum joins Anglesey sea salt, Conwy mussels, and Caerphilly cheese among foods of protected status from Wales. Some may be aware of the annual Denbigh Plum Festival, if not it’s definitely one for the diary. Congratulations to the team of volunteers who have been working tirelessly for years to promote this native fruit, their hard work is a symbol of the brilliant communities we live nearby and how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful part of the world.
Here’s to the Denbigh plum!
