Our Asparagus is Here!

Due to our notoriously fickle British climate, it is hard to predict when our Asparagus will make its first appearance each year, so we wanted to let you know that the time has come; asparagus season has officially begun at The Farm Shop. Joel fromĀ our horticulturist team has been busy out picking in the fields, and now is the time to come and get it.Asparagus is full of vitamins A, B and C, is virtually fat-free, and is full of fibre and folic acid. So it's great for the heart, boosts your immune system and cancer defences, is really good for your skin, nails and hair and is generally an all round nice vegetable. It's incredible easy to cook and literally just needs to be boiled, but here's a recipe for something really delicious.



Directions



  1. Preheat an oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).

  2. Place the asparagus into a mixing bowl, and drizzle with the olive oil. Toss to coat the spears, then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, garlic, salt, and pepper. ...

  3. Bake in the preheated oven until just tender, 12 to 15 minutes depending on thickness.
