Three delicious days off: how will you spend them? Here at the Farm Shop we are firing up the barbecue for its first outing of the year on Saturday, and looking forward to seeing you. This is one of several times of the year when our in-house butchery team comes into its own: providing excellent fresh meat straight from the counter for us to fling onto the griddle. We’ll be serving favourites such as the Hawarden Estate steak sandwich and home-made beefburgers – and we’ll also have our award-winning lamb burgers on the go (you may recall they were officially recognised last year at the Welsh championships). Our superhero butcher Steve will also be making chicken kebabs, beef kebabs and hot dogs using his famous own-recipe sausages – all spiced up with locally made chutney, relish and mustard. We’ll be serving up Cheshire Farm ice cream, too, in several flavours.

To make a day out of it, come in time to walk the nature trail. If you drop in at the Farm Shop first, we’ll give you a sheet of questions to answer and things to look out for – we have devised them for different ages, and there’s lots to see just now. The sociable pigs and chickens are out and about, and they would love a visit. Or, if you prefer, just come and soak up the sun outside on the decking. It’s a lovely way to spend a few hours on a Bank Holiday weekend.
