Authentic taste of the east
Dtoi and Graham Harvey set up Authentic Thai cuisine at their Cheshire home, using the cooking skills she had practised from childhood in her native Thailand. She had learned at an early age how to grind spices into paste and how to incorporate the aromatic herbs that produce that unmistakably fragrant Thai flavour. She and her husband now make ready-to-go Thai meals, using more than a dozen different recipes that are typical of the region from which she comes. A good selection of them is available at the Farm Shop – look out for green curry chicken, red curry roast duck, lamb with chilli basil, beef with oyster sauce, egg noodle cashew nuts, vegetable spring rolls and home-made shrimp crackers. Some of the dishes are rice-based; others go better with noodles.
Dtoi and Graham will be in on Saturday (13th) sampling some new dishes and some familiar favourites. Come along and try – you will be amazed how delicious they are – and the best thing is that you can take your favourite away.
And another quick fix…
We have another new line in ready-meals which are just the thing when you need something in a hurry and haven’t time to cook. Delicious chilli pepper pots consist of minced beefsteak cooked in peppers. With a zingy taste that’s even better than home-cooking, they are perfect for a light lunch, served with a simple leaf salad and new potatoes dripping with garlic butter. Find them next to the cheese counter at the Farm Shop.
Have a great summer week!
