Catrin Finch – The Good Life Experience 2015
We are thrilled to welcome Catrin Finch to this years Good Life Experience. Catrin is the most well known and perhaps the most accomplished harpist in the UK. Since her first recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations for the Deustche Grammophon in 2007, she has since recorded three further albums for the label including the best selling “Blessing”, which featured her own composition “Celtic Concerto” and works by multi award winning composer John Rutter. Catrin's collaboration with Senegalese kora player Seckou Keita, Clychau Dibon, was the best-selling World Music album of 2014 as well as Album of the Year in industry magazines Songlines and Froots. Her album 'Tides', a collaboration with the Water Aid charity is out in March.
Catrin is a Welsh speaker and learned to play the harp at the age of five. She was the official Royal Harpist from 2000-2004, a position that was revived when she was discovered by Prince Charles and she has played extensively all over the world.
"She revelled in her own virtuosity with stunning carefree ease, playing with impeccable rhythmic poise and eliciting a rainbow of colours from her instrument. It brought the house down.”
