Butchery and Outdoor Cooking Masterclass with Jamie Corry

Learn traditional butchery and cookery skills on this intimate, six-person course.

You will learn to butcher a whole deer, master several ways to cook and enjoy venison, eat an amazing feast, and learn ancestral skills too. This is the ultimate practical and informative butchery class.

You will taste delicious, melt-in-the-mouth meat, all prepared by your own hands alongside expert tuition and guidance from Jamie Corry of The Wild Bushcraft Company, who has 21 years’ of experience in bushcraft and butchery.

Over the course of this day you will learn all about deer in the UK, the reasons for managing them and the benefits of doing so. You will be involved in the preparation of a deer into delicious meat and learn about what other parts of the animal can be used for.

What you will learn:

About deer management and benefits of venison.

How to skin and butcher a deer, stalked by the instructor himself.

Different cooking techniques including carpaccio, steaks and roasts.

Ancestral skills to make use of the hide and antlers.

This course uses only equipment that you will already have at home so you can put the skills you learn to the test after the course to impress your family and friends.

What you will get out of this class.

This course is designed to teach you key butchery skills, but also to help you discover some new depths in your interest in cooking.

You will learn from the best - Jamie has 21 years' experience of working in the countryside all over the UK in many guises: bushcraft instructor, deer stalker, countryside ranger and youth engagement officer. He also has a passion for only eating meat that he has hunted or raised, knowing exactly where the animal came from and that it had a good life.
